The idea to buy a bus and to install a custom-made luxury interior belongs to Deisy Wong Will. Deisy is a well-known businesswoman who runs the websites WhatsNewJakarta.com and WhatsNewBali.com, as well as publishing the “Jakarta Entertainment Guide” once a year.
“With Jakarta’s notorious traffic jams, we find ourselves spending a lot of our time stuck in traffic. So one day I thought, if we spend so much time stuck in traffic, wouldn’t it be nice to be in luxurious surroundings? Also access to rest room facilities is a must as well. Most urban cities around the world already have buses like this available for hire, yet Jakarta, which probably needs something like this more than most places, didn’t. So I decided to launch Jakarta’s first bus of this type,” commented Deisy.
“The bus was only finished a few weeks ago, however already we have been inundated with enquiries and bookings,” she added.
The bus is fitted with a surround-sound speaker system, flat screen television; karaoke machine, dancing poles, disco lights, bar fridge and a toilet. The windows have curtains for privacy and the driver section is separate but can be contacted by intercom. On request, a butler service can be provided to serve the drinks to the guests. It can seat 20-25 people comfortably sitting down.
The bus is suitable for a variety of purposes – corporate events; excursions or tours; hen’s or buck nights; transporting sports teams; VIP collection or drop-off at the airport or simply a night out around town with friends.
A non-smoking policy is strictly enforced to ensure the comfort of future guests. Deisy has partnered with a bus company who will ensure the proper ongoing maintenance of the bus and whom provides qualified and experienced drivers for the bus. The bus can be hired for a few hours or even for a few weeks.
“We are in discussions with one company who is considering using the bus to visit and entertain all of their corporate clients over a two week period. We already have plans for more buses for Jakarta and are also planning to launch similar buses in Bali,” Deisy added.
