“See Something Strange”
Welcoming the holy of Ramadan, ARTOTEL Thamrin – Jakarta invites hotel guests to participate in social activities through “See Something Strange” art exhibition. A solo exhibition of Muklay with special needs kids from Yayasan Daya Pelita Kasih Jakarta, with curator exhibition from Safrie Effendi, Art Manager of ARTOTEL Indonesia. This Exhibition will be held at ARTSPACE, Mezanine Level ARTOTEL Thamrin – Jakarta, from 9 June – 9 August 2017.
The artwork to be shown is the result of the imagination of every child poured into the canvas. Carrying the flow of expressionism painting, providing freedom of form and color that describes the emotions of the expression of each child. The concept of abstract art dominated by primary and contrast dyes.
Muchlis Fachri who is familiarly called Muklay, is a local artist from Jakarta who has a unique art character. Each of his works contain monsters and animation figures. Muklay has many exhibitions in Jakarta, national major cities to Asia countries.
During this exhibition, ARTOTEL Thamrin – Jakarta conducted a silent auction system, as a form of movement to raise awareness to children with special needs. All artworks in this exhibition will be on sale to the public from June 9 to June 18, 2017. Through the Silent auction, visitors can purchase auction for a work of interest that is secretly written on a piece of paper and put into a box. At the end of the event will be announced the winner of this auction.
Mr. Kusnadi as Executive Assistant Manager of ARTOTEL Thamrin – Jakarta added, “All proceeds will be given entirely to Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation Jakarta. We hope that this activity can raise awareness to special need kids and direct potential that these children have to be useful for themselves and their environment. We are proud to present this exhibition along with local Artists Muklay and children with special needs “
