Nyepi New Year is one of the most important holidays in the Balinese Hindu calendar. Observed with a day of silence, prayer and meditation, noise and activity are kept to a minimum throughout the island to promote inner reflection. The spiritual belief is that evil spirits descend to Bali and seeing that it is quiet and uninhabited, leave the island alone for another year. On the eve of Nyepi, large colorful sculptures of ‘ogoh-ogoh’ monsters are paraded and then burned in the evening to drive away evil spirits and to symbolise self-purification.
Banyan Tree Ungasan’s Nyepi New Year special stay package includes a luxurious villa stay with indulgent experiences and complimentary guest activities including Balinese offering class and witness puppet (Ogoh-ogoh) parade. Starting from US$458++ per night and is inclusive of daily breakfast for two persons
