Tanjung Lesung and DAMRI Signed MoU for Hotel Bus Partnership
The Tourism Minister Arief Yahya officially opened the grand event, Pesona Tanjung Lesung Festival at CikaduTourism Village, Pandeglang. The minister, who was accompanied by Deputy Governor of Banten Province; Andika Hazrumy; Pandeglang Regent, Irna Narulita; President Director of PT. Banten West Java,Poernomo Siswoprasetijo; Director of Perum DAMRI, Setia Milatia Moemin; and, Head of Tourism Office of Banten Province, Eneng Nurcahyati, marked the start of the festival by working the traditional mortar and pestle. The festival is to last from 28 until 30 September 2018.
The main event of the festival is the first open cross-triathlon in Indonesia, Rhino Cross Triathlon and Mountain Bike Cross Country Marathon (MTB XCM). The festival also features diverse cultural performances, including Cikadu Batik Market and Kolecer Festival held at Cipanon.
The Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said, “The Indonesian government fully supports this festival which has become the pride of the people of Banten, Pesona Tanjung Lesung Festival. The festival is included in the calendar of the 100 National Tourism events and has set a budget of Rp1.5 billion for the next year’s event. Support from the government also comes in the form of infrastructures, namely toll road and airport for better connectivity.
The Indonesian government fully supports this festival which has become the pride of the people of Banten, Pesona Tanjung Lesung Festival.
Furthermore, Arief said in the event the government also inaugurated the digital market called Pasar Berbatik Cikadu, or Cikadu Batik Market. The market is one of the 12 digital markets promoted by Genpi on social media. In the future, Banten and notably Pandeglang regency can continue to develop community-based tourism. The regional government can learn from the people in Sanur, Bali, who are already much experienced in this regard.
Coinciding with the opening ceremony of Pesona Tanjung Lesung Festival is the signing of MoU between Tanjung Lesung Special Economic and Tourism Zone and Perum DAMRI. The MoU is about developing the accommodation and transportation facility, namely hotel buses. The memorandum of understanding was signed by President Director of PT. Banten West Java, Poernomo Siswoprasetijo and Director of Perum DAMRI, Setia Milatia Moemin.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Banten,Andika Azrumy, in his speech, said that the development of southern Banten, including Pandeglang, has been very rapid. Related to the development, the provincial government, with the support from the central government, is working hard to reactivate Malimping – Labuanrail line, Serang – Panimbang toll road and construct an airport. The strong commitment to development also comes in the form of the development of neighborhood roads and drainage system in Cikadu, Pandeglang and the revitalization of the place of the Banten Sultanate which will be developed as a religious tourism destination.
Carrying the same note, PandeglangRegent, Irna Narulita said at present three strategic projects are running, namely Serang – Panimbangtoll road project, reactivation of rail line and the development of airport in south Banten. The projects are the realization of the penta-helix synergy between the central government, Banten Provincial government and Pandeglang Regency government, the private sector, the academia and the media. With the projects, the region further strengthens the resolve to make tourism as Banten’s leading sector. Pesona Tanjung Lesung Festival which has been held since four years ago has played an important role in introducing other regions in the province, such as Cikadu and Cipanon, as tourism villages located near Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone which also function as the buffer zone. People of Pandeglang are ready to make Banten as the magnet for tourists.
