On the 28th January 2019, Alila Yangshuo was proudly named the Best Resort Hotel and Global Ultimate Winner at the 2019 AHEAD Global Awards.
AHEAD Global is the culmination of the first cycle of the AHEAD Awards. All those included in the shortlist are previous winners from one of the eight regional events which have taken place in Asia, Americas, MEA and Europe throughout 2017-2018. The nominees were selected through an exhaustive process from over 1600 entries, representing some 600+ projects in 87 countries, assessed by 64 judges.
The awards ceremony, held at Ham Yard Hotel, celebrated the most beautiful, innovative and exciting hotels to open around the world with the results announced simultaneously in London and New York.

Alila Yangshuo, which opened in October 2017, was once a working sugar mill and has been transformed into a modern, retro resort with 117 rooms, suites and villas combining stylish simplicity with exceptional comfort and convenience. Yangshuo is the gem of Guilin, and home to some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.
Located high above and overlooking the Li River, Alila Yangshuo is a 1.2-hour drive from Guilin Liangjiang Airport and a 30-minute car journey from the Yangshuo railway station. Alila Anji, in the Zhejiang province, was also shortlisted within the Best Resort Hotel category.
