Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta actively participated in World Wellness Weekend today by presenting “Disco Zumba” as an energetic and entertaining wellness activity for the occasion.
The hotel brought the atmosphere of the ‘80s to SATOO Garden with a themed dress code, songs and ‘80s vibes, giving guests a memorable time. Held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the wellness event was attended by 40 participants composed of loyal Health Club members, guests, media friends, Jakarta’s socialites and fitness communities.
Shangri-La hotels and resorts around the world also celebrated World Wellness Weekend, a global event celebrated each year on the third weekend of September.
One of the goals of World Wellness Weekend is to remind people that, while “(h)ealth is a relationship between their body and a doctor”, “(w)ellness is a responsible relationship between one’s body and oneself.”
World Wellness Weekend was first celebrated in 2017. For the past three years, Shangri-La
Hotel, Jakarta has hosted free wellness activities to promote a healthier and better life. The goals of World Wellness Weekend align with Shangri-La’s core value of hospitality from the heart, which includes concern for the health and well-being of its guests, colleagues and
communities.
After the Zumba activity, the guests enjoyed a mini perfume-making workshop by L’Occitane, free medical check-up by Medikaloka and a fashion bazaar by REE by Riana Ree. Before the hotel closed the event, the chefs spoiled guests with a choice of healthy breakfast creations. The participants then received a special goody bag from Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, ClassPass Indonesia and other sponsors.
