The most important month for Muslims in Indonesia is approaching and InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, South Jakarta’s latest icon of luxury, aims to provide affluent residents of Jakarta with unrivalled festive experiences during the month of Ramadhan.
A Royal Feast
Themed “Royal Iftar Celebration”, the world-class hotel has prepared a wide-ranging series of treats for its sophisticated guests and customers. Breaking a fast at the hotel’s elegant restaurant Sugar and Spice, for example, is going to be an experience equal to dining out like royalties.
Classic, one-of-a-kind break-fasting dishes from Indonesia and the Middle East will be on offer, modernised and improved for the discerning palates of Jakarta food connoisseurs through a fine collaboration between InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah’s team of culinary wizards led by Executive Sous Chef Sudiyono and celebrity guest chef – the renowned chef Degan Septoadji, a seasoned alchemist of Indonesian and world cuisines who was a Best Asian Chef nominee at the 2012 World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, and who is also more widely known as a judge for the highly popular reality TV show MasterChef Indonesia.

Some of the culinary highlights on the menu throughout Ramadhan will include a spread of Arabic Cold Mezze, Pomelo Salad with Crispy Soft-Shell Crab, Slow-Roasted Salmon Fillet and Sous-Vide-Prepared Balinese Spiced Duck Breast. The all-time favourite Ramadhan dishes such as the Mandi Rice with Lamb Shank, Chicken Shawarma, Shish Kebab and Morrocan Seafood Tagine will also available for guests to enjoy for the Buka Puasa or dinner time.
On top of being able to savour his masterful food creations for the whole month of Ramadhan, Jakarta residents will also be able to learn from chef Degan through the hotel’s IGTV show and a special recipe ebook.
Those who would like to enjoy Ramadhan and Lebaran festivities at home with their families and loved ones can order one of the hotel’s fine Let Us Come To You luxurious meal boxes which will be delivered safely to their doorstep.
Conversely, those who are keen to celebrate Ramadhan at the hotel, are also welcomed to do so. InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah is a non-Covid-quarantine hotel and follows a series of rigorous health and safety protocols to make sure all events are conducted safely and responsibly.
In addition to that, the hotel’s public spaces and ballroom will also be adorned with decorative pieces that have been designed to make visitors and guests feel like Middle Eastern royalty.
Elegant Gifts
The month of Ramadhan is also the month for gifts. Understanding the importance of this special tradition for Muslims in Indonesia, classy hampers will also be available for sale throughout the festive month.
Going even further, as well as making its collection of artisanal cakes and cookies available, the hotel is also working together with singer-cum-fashion designer Zaskia Sungkar, whose Muslim women’s wear collections are highly sought after by sophisticated fashionistas in Indonesia, to create some of the most elegant Ramadhan- themed hampers in town.
