American-based shoe brand, Converse, opens its latest store at Pondok Indah Mall 3, a shopping center that just held its own grand opening located in the South Jakarta region. To welcome this special moment, Converse is presenting Converse ‘You’, promo, offering Chuck 70 shoe lovers the chance to customize a special emblem (patch) from the Converse City Forests global campaign: Breaking Barriers.
Converse Indonesia has been carrying out a global campaign since last year to clean the city air through Converse City Forests, a sustainable street art campaign in the form of mural painting that combines street art with youth awareness towards the environment.
So far, three murals have been completed at 3 different locations in Central, South and West Jakarta involving talented young mural artists such as Olderplus, Blesmokie, Wormo and Fivust, utilizing paints made from various ecological and natural material able to absorb CO2 gas pollution similar to trees.
The City Forests campaign is still in continuation at numerous locations in Jakarta as a part of global campaign in 14 other cities across the world.
Converse ‘You’ promotion offers free emblem (patch) consumers with a minimal purchase value of Rp 1 million. The emblem design is inspired by a mural called “Berat Sama Dipikul, Ringan Sama Dijinjing” as a part of the Converse City Forests campaign: Breaking Barriers in May, 2021 simultaneously in South and West Jakarta.
The exciting event shall be held on April 19, 2021 during Converse’s new store opening in Pondok Indah Mall 3 on the 3rd floor 3 at 3 pm in which would attend mural artists Wormo and Fivust to light up the event.
The year 2021 will become an expansive year for PT. MAP Aktif Adiperkasa, Tbk. in which Converse Indonesia will be opening several other new stores in Mall Ambarukmo in Jogyakarta, Living World in Pekanbaru and other locations as well.
The City Forests campaign is still in continuation at numerous locations in Jakarta, wherein in the coming month of May, Converse will carry out mural activities under Women Equality theme, still in collaboration with local muralist members of Converse All Star community.
The City Forests campaign is initiated in 14 cities around the world, including Jakarta (Indonesia), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Manila (The Philippines), Bangkok (Thailand), Sydney (Australia) and others.
Converse actively searches for ways to keep the momentum going, hand in hand with local artists from different parts of Indonesia and the world to support its mission to bring fresh air to the cities.
Currently, there have been 8,033 trees “planted” during the Converse City Forests campaign.
