Jababeka, a mega-cluster with an area of 34 hectares promoting sports & healthy life to strengthen the commitment to establish a Sport City concept, is ready to host for sports events agenda in Indonesia.
This year, Jababeka is preparing itself to organize a number of junior and amateur golf tournaments as well as a nation-wide duathlon competition. In particular, Jababeka Golf–an international-level golf course located in Jababeka Area has followed Indonesia Care or CHSE, implementation guide protocols for Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability as a part of the effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 which at the same time serves as an indicator that Jababeka Golf is a golf course that is safe to visit, to reassure the public’s trust in Indonesian tourism and sports.
Corporate Marketing General Manager of PT Graha Buana Cikarang – Jababeka Area Developer, Eric Limansantoso explained that Jababeka Sport City is one of the mega-cluster projects which certainly has been developed with a purpose; not only to bring a comprehensive and integrated area within a beautiful environment but also to promote a healthy lifestyle with a modern and present for Indonesian people.
The Jababeka Sport City Area itself rests on an area of 34 hectares, divided into two main regions namely Sport City in the North for 21 hectares and another 13 hectares belongs to the Sport City Extension located in the South of Jababeka. Both Sport City and Sport City Extension regions belong to an integrated area which has easy access.
Eric Limansantoso said that, “Jababeka Sport City has prepared more than 1 hectare of area for a Sport Hub designed directly by an International consultant AECOM where various sport activities and facilities can be found, from jogging track, skate park, wall climbing, futsal field and basket ball field, as well as many others.”
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Jababeka Hospitality, Fachrully F. Lasahido who is often greeted Rully explained, “Since 2020, Jababeka Golf has implemented Indonesia Care, Government’s health protocol guide as a part of the company’s full support and responsibility in facing the Pandemic.”
He added that as a form of strong commitment to establish Sport City, Jababeka is currently considering and preparing to hold a number of national-level junior and amateur gold tournaments.
Other than that, it is also preparing to hold a Duathlon competition, Indonesia Open X-Sports Championship (IOXC), BMX, MTB skateboarding competitions.
Rully hoped that if the Government’s vaccination succeeded and patient recovery rate increased, then face-to-face activities would possibly be carried out again, especially, sports and tourism events such as the Rhino X-Triathlon event in Tanjung Lesung popular among triathlon sports lovers.
