Muslim Nusantara Orphanage the first beneficiary of new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative providing Internet access
PT Kredit Pintar Indonesia (KPI), a leading Fintech Lending platform that is licensed, registered, and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), is announcing the launch of its new ‘Chasing Dreams’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. One of the first beneficiaries of this programme is the Muslim Nusantara Orphanage (Karbela Street 2, No. 31 Setiabudi, South Jakarta). Established in 1989, the orphanage houses 30 foster and under privileged children aged between 7-15 years old from Greater Jakarta and Central Java.
Under the programme, the orphanage will receive internet installment and access for a full year, which will support online education and learning for students in the orphanage while also giving them greater access to technology. Kredit Pintar will also provide sanitation kits to maintain hygiene standards during the pandemic.
Monica Melinda, a Caretaker at Muslim Nusantara Orphanage, said: “We’re delighted to receive this support from Kredit Pintar and believe learning activities will be greatly improved as a result of internet access, which so many people around the world take for granted. I’m also grateful for earlier donations of groceries and multivitamins in May this year, which have been integral in providing the right nutritional needs for the children we care for, as well as for ourselves as the caretakers, during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Yasmine Meylia, Head of Government Relations at Kredit Pintar, said: “Internet access is a crucial part of the learning process and we’re confident it will help the young children at Muslim Nusantara Orphanage discover and realise their dreams through access to better education materials. We also expect that this “Chasing Dreams” CSR programme by Kredit Pintar will act as a template for our planned future education campaigns.’’
As a financial technology company, Kredit Pintar’s mission is to improve the life of all Indonesian citizens by providing financial access to the underbanked and unbanked. Previous CSR efforts include donating 10,000 masks to a hospital in Tangerang, and giving commuters in Jakarta complimentary hygiene kits.
