On August 30th, 2022, Krispy Kreme celebrated its 16th anniversary in Indonesia. Throwback to August 30th, 2006, Krispy Kreme’s first store is located in Pondok Indah Mall 2 and has become everyone’s favorite up until today. Krispy Kreme is pleased to use its anniversary as an opportunity to strengthen the brand, honor the rich culture of the brand with freshly produced doughnuts every day, and boost consumer interest.
“The fact that Krispy Kreme has been around for 16 years shows how strong its position is in the market and how much Indonesians love it. We prioritize quality over quantity, as shown by the idea that Krispy Kreme only has 33 stores in Greater Jakarta. Since its first establishment 16 years ago, the characteristic flavor of Krispy Kreme has been preserved and adapted to Indonesian preferences,” said Anthony Cottan, President Director of PT Map Boga Adiperkasa Tbk.
Vernon Rudolph founded Krispy Kreme in 1937. Before daybreak, Vernon started making doughnuts, people passed by and inquired about purchasing hot, fresh doughnuts as the aroma of doughnut-making filled the street. Then he cut a hole in an outside wall and started selling Original Glazed doughnuts to passersby.
While the Original Glazed doughnut has remained as delicious and iconic as ever, loved by generations, Krispy Kreme has broadened its menu to offer a wide range of wonderful doughnut innovations. As in Indonesia, we developed several new flavors that are exclusively available in Indonesia, such as the collaboration with Khong Guan biscuits, the Onde-Onde flavor for Independence Day, and Kue Putu.

To deliver those melt-in-your-mouth moments and a joyful experience serving hand-crafted doughnuts, every single one of our excellent doughnuts is freshly made every day. We have two factories, located in Harapan Indah Bekasi and Taman Tekno Tangerang Selatan, where they produce doughnuts every day and distribute them to all Krispy Kreme stores,” said Avilia, Brand Manager Krispy Kreme.
Krispy Kreme Taman Tekno was officially opened in 2016 while Krispy Kreme Harapan Indah was opened right before the pandemic in 2019. These two locations serve as the backbone for the best experience in daily fresh doughnut consumption.
