Invest Islands Sculpts Secluded Torok Bay to Become Spectacular and Sustainable Luxury Resort
Gran Meliá Lombok takes shape on Indonesian island’s stunning south coast, as development reaches the pinnacle of the site and five-star pool villas & residences come to life
Invest Islands, Lombok’s leading real estate investment company, has started to transform a pristine stretch of this idyllic Indonesian island’s south coast into one of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular and eco-sensitive resort projects: Gran Meliá Lombok.
Scheduled to open in early 2025, this breath-taking five-star beachfront and hillside retreat will comprise a collection of architecturally iconic luxury villas, overlooking the Indian Ocean and framed by emerald headlands and rippling rice fields at Torok Bay. Just a short drive from the international airport, Gran Meliá Lombok will present experience-seeking travellers and forward-thinking investors with a unique opportunity for stylish and sustainable escapes, away from the crowds.
The luxurious pool villas and residences at Gran Meliá Lombok are already taking shape
Now, Invest Islands has revealed that development is fully on track, with several important milestones having already been reached. In terms of infrastructure, the main 1.5km access road now reaches the pinnacle of the site, about 240 metres above sea level. This will enable work to start on the levelling and landscaping of the very top villas.
Nestled among swaying palm trees, the resort will house world-class facilities, including a clubhouse and restaurants. Work is also moving forward in the back-of-house areas. These are the aspects that visitors rarely have a chance to see, but are critical in delivering smooth and successful operations behind the scenes and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
In terms of accommodation, construction is progressing well across all units. Bali-based Inspiral Architecture & Design Studios has crafted a series of creative residential concepts, including KAYMA Moroccan tented suites, AURORA minimalist villas, INSPIRAL eco-luxury villas and LA RESIDENZA Bauhaus-style residences. Ranging from beautiful hillside duplexes and one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, each unit will be fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, luxurious interiors, private pools, panoramic windows and ocean or hillside views.
The footprint of the villas is already beginning to resemble the designs, with plenty of native greenery being retained
Invest Islands’ glamping tent partner, Serge Ferrari, has already started to galvanize the structure of the KAYMA tented suites, while also tailoring the eco-friendly exterior fabric for the flowing roofs. Structural work has also commenced on the INSPIRAL villas, with the private pools set to take shape within the next month. At the most advanced stage, the AURORA villas will enter the final phase soon, introducing elements to meet the five-star specifications of the Gran Meliá brand.
