Subway celebrates first anniversary by opening its first drive-thru restaurant at the KM 57 Rest Area and introduces new menu.
To commemorate its first anniversary in Indonesia on October 15th, 2022, Subway® opened its first restaurant in KM 57 Rest Area while introducing a new menu to its loyal guests. “In October 2021, Subway started its journey in Indonesia by opening its first outlet in Town Square Cilandak (Citos) Jakarta. After a year, we own 41 restaurants in the country and aim to establish more by 2023. The expansion of the restaurant chain is happening at a rapid rate and is expected to reach wider guests in other cities in Indonesia,” said President Director of PT Map Boga Adiperkasa Tbk, Anthony Cottan.
“We are currently focusing on making restaurants easily accessible for Subway guests by opening them in a diverse range of locations, including non-traditional places like rest areas along toll roads, train stations, and airports. In addition to being the first drive-thru restaurant in Indonesia, the Subway drive-thru restaurant at rest area KM 57 is also the first in South East Asia.”
Subway serves freshly made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, salads and bowls to millions of guests, across more than 100 countries in more than 37,000 restaurants every day.
The opening of the first Subway Drive-Thru restaurant in this rest area (also the 42nd Subway restaurant in Indonesia), according to Anthony, is intended to provide better food options. When it comes to ordering food, Subway’s guests have two options: those in a hurry can use the drive-thru, or they can dine in the 165.8 square meter restaurant, which can seat approximately 51 guests.
As part of the CeleBREADtion, in addition to opening the KM 57 Drive-Thru store, one of three new menus will be unboxed by Subway in October, Shrimp Avocado – which has become a favorite menu in Korea and Japan.
The Subway drive-thru restaurant at rest area KM 57 is also the first in South East Asia.
“Subway will continue to unbox new menus each month until December in order to celebrate the anniversary, including main and side dishes. This is how we respond to our guests’ inquiries, we provide our guests’ demand one by one, including menus that have never been served in Indonesia but that they have encountered elsewhere. Starting this October, Subway will offer Shrimp Avocado, the perfect combination of crispy shrimp and avocado,” said Head Marketing of Subway, Silvia Muryadi.
