Starbucks® in Indonesia today announced an exciting update to the Starbucks® RewardsTM loyalty program, giving members more payment options and the ability to earn Rewards through the Starbucks Indonesia app.
Beginning in early 2023, all Starbucks stores in Indonesia will gradually provide easy payment for all Starbucks Rewards members who use any method to earn Stars and various Rewards options. This feature will be a refinement of the Stars collection option, which previously required payment at outlets and within the application using a registered Starbucks Card.
“The increased experience in using Starbucks Rewards is realized as a way to fulfill consumer needs that has brought success to Starbucks to this day. Making connections with our customers, both in-store and online, allows us to anticipate their needs and deliver the products and experiences they seek.”
“Customers have told us that, in addition to the Starbucks Card, they want more options for paying and earning Stars. And now, millions of members can choose and enjoy a variety of Rewards based on their individual preferences,” said Liryawati, Chief Marketing Officer for PT Sari Coffee Indonesia, the Starbucks brand’s licensee in Indonesia.
Starting in early 2023, all Starbucks Rewards members in Indonesia can scan their app, get Rewards with any payment option (cash, QRIS, credit/debit card, or e-wallet).
“With the dynamics of today’s digital era, particularly among young people, Starbucks continues to strive to remain relevant to its customers through improvements in the digital customer experience area. “This will undoubtedly attract a larger customer base and strengthen our bonds with members,” she added.
“Every transaction of IDR10,000 will get 1 Star for members who scan their membership account through the application or their Starbucks Card, but use other payment types such as cash, QRIS, credit / debit cards, or other e-wallets. Members will receive 1x Stars for every IDR5,000 spent if they scan the Starbucks app and pay with the balance stored in their account or Starbucks Card,” explained Andhika Panggabean, Starbucks Loyalty Division Manager in Indonesia.
“While there will no longer be an automatic conversion of 100 Stars to a Rewards offer, members will have the option to start redeeming Stars – starting at the lowest 25 Stars or saving for higher Rewards items up to 400 Stars,” he added. Stars can be exchanged for additional items such as drinks, food, coffee beans, and special pricing on merchandise. Members can also view their Stars and Rewards redemption history on the app and website,” he added.
