Mercedes-Benz has a long history in Indonesia, starting with the first vehicle in Indonesia, the Benz Victoria Phaeton in 1894. The Mercedes-Benz company was then established in Indonesia in 1970 and currently consists of two companies, PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia and PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia.
PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia locally assembles its flagship passenger vehicles – the A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, and S-Class sedans, the GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS SUVs, as well as the Mercedes-AMG A 35 Sedan and Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 in a 42-hectare factory in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java.
In 2009, the Mercedes-Benz Indonesia factory was declared an Eco-Industry certified automotive producer by TUV-Rheinland.
PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia is responsible for importing and wholesale distribution of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and spare parts, as well as customer services.
