This programme offers two different grant schemes: creative collaboration and scoping and researching. The British Council has also initiated Disability Arts projects under UK/Indonesia 2016-18, a three-year programme focused on growing creative links between UK and Indonesia by bringing key people together to generate ideas, partner with each other, and influence policy, most noticeably with Festival Bebas Batas that was held during the Asian Para Games 2018.
Aside from that, World Conference on Creative Economy, a biennial conference that inclusively discusses issues and challenges of the global creative economy sector, was also conducted in 2022 in collaboration with the Indonesian government.
“Having been in Indonesia for 75 years delivering huge impact through Cultural Relations, the British Council remains committed to our mission to build connections, trust, and understanding between the people of Indonesia and the UK. In a fast-changing world, we are now even more driven than ever to support the development of arts and creative industries here in Indonesia.”
“We will continue moving forward with our innovative ways of promoting education, cultural exchange, and lifelong learning in hopes of contributing to a sustainable and inclusive future, and we hope that with Altermatter, we are on the right track of achieving that,” concluded Summer Xia.
