This exciting event makes a grand comeback in multiple major cities across Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bali, Balikpapan, Bandung, Belitung, Lampung, Manado, Medan, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta, spanning from 7 to 21 October 2023.
Organized by Marriott Business Council Indonesia, all associates, guests, and running communities are invited to join the event as an effort to support those in need.
Road to Give goes beyond a run; it is an embodiment of Marriott International’s core value ‘Serve Our World’ and ‘TakeCare’ movement, which aim to encourage Marriott International’s associates to move in various activities to support charitable organizations in the local communities and other associates in need. It has become a transformative celebration that transcends the boundaries of running and fun walking.
This year, 69 Marriott Bonvoy’s Portfolio of Hotels and Resorts in Indonesia come together to raise funds in support of Scholars of Sustenance (S.O.S), a foundation dedicated to minimizing food waste and provide nutritional support to communities in need.
With a goal of engaging over 10,000 participants, encompassing both associates and general public, the funds raised will be directed towards distributing food surplus resources.
Furthermore, through this charity event, the funds raised will support Marriott International’s associates who were affected by the devastating fires in Maui, Hawaii.
“Scholars of Sustenance is serving three things; The land, the people, and the spirit. We are not only helping people, but also helping the communities while being environmentally conscious in our works, all can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation,” says Bo Holmgreen – CEO & Founder of Scholars of Sustenance.
“The partnership with Road To Give 2023 will elevate our commitment to reducing food waste and promoting food equity, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment among residents to address food waste and equity issues locally for contributing to global efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, such as Zero Hunger, Sustainable and Cities Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Partnership for The Goals”.
