Vibrancy in Motion: Ngelawang, Mebat, and Mejajaitan Extravaganza
On 8th March 2024, immerse yourself in the cultural tapestry of Bali with an array of traditional activities at Jimbaran Puri. The activities begin with Ngelawang at 5.00pm, a captivating Barong dance performed by Balinese children, symbolising both the joy of Nyepi Day and the spirit of village entertainment.
Following this performance, experience the communal cooking preparation known as Mebat, a social tradition where Balinese men gather to prepare dishes that will be enjoyed by all. Additionally, the Jimbaran Puri team will showcase other ‘mebat’ activities for guests to witness, offering a unique glimpse into Balinese culture.
Meanwhile, Mejajaitan, an act of Balinese women preparing offerings, adds to the cultural richness of the day. The resort will be buzzing with the clinking of traditional tools and the aroma of sumptuous Balinese dishes. The women, revered as keepers of Balinese heritage, will skillfully craft intricate offerings.
Additionally, witness the Making of the Balinese Gate, Penjor, and other Balinese decorations, adding to the resort’s vibrant ambiance with traditional sounds and the aroma of Balinese dishes.
Come evening, Nelayan Restaurant becomes a stage for a gastronomic journey from 7.30 pm. A 4-course dinner unfolds a masterpiece of Balinese flavours paired with local wines. The evening is accompanied by the enchanting Legong dance, a mesmerizing performance e weaving tales of Bali’s cultural grandeur.
Nyepi Serenity: Special Dinner at Nelayan Restaurant
Celebrate Nyepi with a once-in-a-lifetime Balinese style BBQ dining experience on March 11th from 5pm to 8pm. Indulge in a feast featuring a variety of freshly grilled seafood and meats, complemented with a selection of traditional Balinese accompaniments.
The exclusive dining experience offers guests the opportunity to savour the flavours of Bali, creating unforgettable moments during this auspicious occasion. Guests who wish to stay in their hotel rooms can also enjoy the convenience of 24-hour room service on March 11th, ensuring a relaxing and indulgent Nyepi experience.
The Nyepi celebrations at Jimbaran Puri are available for guests staying between 5th – 12th March 2024. Melukat or Karma cleansing on 7th March is priced at IDR 250,000 nett per person. The 4-course wine pairing dinner at Nelayan on 8th March is priced at IDR 950,000++ per person. The Authentic Balinese Style BBQ Dinner on 11th March is priced at IDR 510,000++ per person. 24 hours booking in advance is required. Check-in and check-out are not available during Nyepi.
