Converse and Nike Present Footwear Collection Designed by Converse Cons Rider Alexis Sablone

Silhouettes include Converse AS-1 Pro and Nike SB Dunk Low; Footwear will also be available in a limited-edition twin pack box

Converse and Nike have partnered with Converse Cons team rider, former Olympian, and multi-disciplinary creator Alexis Sablone to design a limited-edition skateboarding footwear pack featuring a Converse AS-1 Pro and a Nike SB Dunk Low.

Sablone also designed skateboarding federation kits for the United States and Japan, as well as a Federation Agnostic offering, with the latter informing the design language of the AS-1 Pro and Dunk Low.

She crafted the country agnostic kits and, subsequently, the footwear collection through the prism of a chameleon and the species’ ability to transform its skin in a nearly infinite number of ways—speaking to the ever-evolving nature of skateboarding and the individuality central to the sport. Skaters span continents, classes, and gender spectrums, and they come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and ability levels.

The chameleons and their vibrant, unpredictable color patterns manifest on both footwear styles through earth-toned, tear-away uppers. The AS-1 Pro and the Dunk are also bound by bumpy, reptilian textures and color changing, wear-away leather, chameleon camo liners, and the Federation Agnostic crest applied to the back of the tongue.

The AS-1 Pro, Sablone’s signature shoe which she co-created with Converse last year, sees its chameleon-inspired, wear-away leather upper applied on top of a white print. The Star Chevron and heel underlay feature a Fuchsia Glow tone that matches the upper’s base layer.
