Hotel Indigo Debuts in Indonesia’s Scenic Highlands, Bandung

Explore Sundanese heritage and natural heritage in the enchanting Dago Pakar neighbourhood

Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle collection, has opened its second property in Indonesia, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, in the scenic city of Bandung.

Each Hotel Indigo is as unique as its location, drawing vibrant inspiration and energy from the local culture, aiming to immerse guests in authentic experiences and forge genuine connections with its neighbourhoods. With this ethos at its core, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar brings the essence of the destination to life through its unique sights, sounds, and flavors.

Perched 700 metres above sea level, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar offers a tranquil escape amidst the lush greenery and morning mists of Bandung. Inspired by the local Sundanese word “Dagoan” or “to wait”, the hotel reflects the hospitality guests can expect as they explore the Dago Pakar neighbourhood.

The hotel’s design integrates traditional Sundanese motifs and natural elements, inviting guests to discover modern touches that harmonise with local cultural elements such as cascading waterfalls, classic Bandung batiks, and folklore inspired by the nearby Tangkuban Perahu mountain. The lobby’s floor-to-ceiling windows also create an inviting ambiance, showcasing picturesque views of the surrounding hillside landscape.

The hotel offers 277 elegantly designed rooms and suites that reflect the neighbourhood’s vibrant culture and atmosphere. Guests can enjoy breath-taking views of the Dago Pakar area from their rooms, complete with comfortable daybeds for relaxation. Thoughtful design elements such as local batik motifs and topographic contours enhance the guest experience, blending local charm with contemporary comfort.

At Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, guests can savour a variety of dining experiences that celebrate local flavours and international cuisine. By seamlessly integrating local traditions and artistic design elements, the hotel offers not just a meal, but a journey through Sundanese heritage and the vibrant spirit of the Dago Pakar neighbourhood:

Joempa, the hotel’s main restaurant, brings the essence of the Dago Pakar neighborhood to life with its menu of savory and spicy dishes from West Java. Guests can savor cuanki, a Sundanese protein-rich broth, and batagor, fried tenggiri fish dumplings served with peanut sauce.

The restaurant emphasises seasonal ingredients sourced directly from local farms and spice gardens, offering dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, with modern cooking techniques and family-style sharing options.

Opening later this year, Karbon, the rooftop restaurant and bar offers a unique dining experience with Asian grill and smokehouse concepts, where dishes are prepared over open kitchen embers. Its beverage menu also features drinks inspired by local heritage, including cocktail twists on Sundanese drinks bandrek and bajigur, as well as locally sourced coffee, tea, and fresh fruits.
