An Ode to Indonesia’s Unity in Diversity 

In honour of Indonesia’s 79th year of independence, Jimbaran Puri presents a Merdeka Pairing Dinner on 17th August, inviting guests to savour a meticulously curated four-course menu that celebrates the island’s rich culinary heritage. From the freshest seafood to traditional Balinese dishes, each course reflects the concept of Indonesia’s motto: Bhineka Tunggal Ika – Unity in Diversity. 

This exclusive dinner commences with Pesan Be Pasih, a legendary Balinese-style Mahi Mahi fillet grilled in banana leaf, paired with the tropical flavours of Sababay Ascar sparkling wine. The starter, Tuna Dabu-Dabu, features shredded grilled tuna loin with a vibrant Manado-style sambal, perfectly complemented by the crisp and elegant Plaga Chardonnay.

The main course, Rendang Sapi, offers prime beef rump braised in rendang paste, accompanied by robust Two Island Cabernet Sauvignon. The culinary delight concludes with Kolak Pisang & Es Krim Nangka, a comforting dessert of stewed banana with coconut milk and palm sugar, paired with the sweet notes of Sababay Mascetti ruby port-style wine. 

This culinary journey showcases the diverse flavours of Indonesia, paired with locally sourced Balinese wines. Beyond highlighting the exquisite cuisine, it symbolizes the unity and diversity that define Indonesia, offering guests a taste of the nation’s rich heritage.
