Reed Krakoff, John Hardy’s Creative Chairman

Reed Krakoff has served as John Hardy’s Creative Chairman since September 2022. He also holds the title of Strategic Advisor with the brand’s parent company, L Catterton.

Krakoff is an American designer with a career that spans over 35 years. He is a three-time recipient of the Accessory Designer of the Year Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America – more than any other designer.

Under his creative leadership at John Hardy, the brand has been revitalized with a new design direction and a modern take on the spirit of Bali, all while staying authentic to the brand’s DNA. Preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, Krakoff has readied John Hardy with multiple new collections including Spear, Surf, Pebble, Colorblock and the John Hardy Mens Collection as well as redesigned John Hardy classics including Naga and Love Knot. 

Krakoff has introduced an elevated assortment of diamond, gold and sterling jewelry designs throughout the assortment, quickly becoming the brand’s best selling styles. Additionally, the brand’s new visual narrative can be seen on JohnHardy.com as well as across all social platforms and store design.

Prior to his role with John Hardy and L Catterton, Krakoff held the role of Chief Artistic Officer of the iconic jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., the first in the brand’s almost 200-year history. During his tenure he is credited with restoring Tiffanys’ global presence as the preeminent luxury jeweler and driving sales in excess of $4BN annually. 

At Tiffany & Co., Krakoff oversaw all product design, advertising and store design and was responsible for such milestones as the brand’s move to renovate it’s New York City flagship, dressing Lady Gaga in the iconic Tiffany Diamond at the Academy Awards and the “Vision & Virtuosity” Shanghai exhibition.

Krakoff joined storied American accessories company Coach in 1996 and continued with the brand until he left in 2013 as President and Chief Creative Officer. He is recognized for his leadership in revamping and reviving Coach’s image and driving the brand’s sales from $500 million to $5 billion globally.

Krakoff also worked at such prestigious brands as Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. He received his degree in Fashion Design from Parsons The New School of Design in New York City. Krakoff lives with his family in New York City.
