A precursor to this innovative material, Anton is in awe of the traditional wooden joinery techniques that were used by the Japanese to construct houses, temples and shrines, some of which date back over 1,000 years.
“What I admire most about traditional Japanese methods is their precision and respect for the wood,” he explains. “The intricate joinery techniques demonstrate unparalleled artisanship that stands the test of time while honoring the natural beauty and strength of the wood.”

These are values shared by his co-founder, Andrey Skripachev, whom Anton met soon after arriving in Bali in 2018.
