Whisky Live Debuts in Macau with Over 40 Exhibitors and 300 Whisky Tastings

Whisky Live, the prestigious annual international whisky event organised by Whisky Magazine, officially makes its debut in Macau this year. Following its successful launch in Hong Kong in 2016, Whisky Magazine is partnering with SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) to present the inaugural Whisky Live Macau 2024 from October 11 to 13 (Friday to Sunday) at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau.

This highly anticipated event will feature more than 40 exhibitors showcasing exceptional whiskies and culinary delights from around the world.

Located in the prime Cotai area, the expansive 20,000-square-foot venue at the Grand Lisboa Palace will offer visitors an unparalleled opportunity to sample the world’s most popular and rare whiskies. Attendees will also be able to interact with producers, distillers and whisky experts.

Whisky Live Macau will feature four distinct themed areas, including whisky and spirit tastings, food pairings, live music performances, and a cocktail garden, each offering a unique experience for attendees.

The Grand Pavilion on the fourth floor will host over 300 whiskies, featuring renowned and independent bottlers from Scotland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. Many of these selections are landing in Macau for the first time, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore the unique profiles and rich flavours of exceptional whiskies.

To celebrate this landmark event, the organisers have curated a special bottle from the Hokkaido Akkeshi Distillery, aged in pear barrels. Limited to only 130 bottles, this collectable single-barrel whisky, distilled in 2020, showcases the distinctive character of Hou Shore, with refreshing citrus and marine notes complemented by the terroir of Hokkaido.

Another highlight of Whisky Live Macau 2024 is the outdoor cocktail garden, located at Jardim Secreto on the third floor of the resort. The green oasis will feature a variety of spirits from the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, and more.

Celebrated local and Hong Kong senior bartenders will create special cocktails each night, while resident DJ performances will provide participants with expertly crafted cocktails in a picturesque European garden, adding a unique dimension to the whisky experience.
