Día de los Muertos: Motel Mexicola to Host the Island’s Iconic Day of the Dead Party

With a Best Dressed Prize of IDR 10 million at both Seminyak and Canggu

The time has come again: Thursday, October 31, Motel Mexicola will host its legendary Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party at both its Seminyak and Canggu locations, expanding on its tradition of throwing Bali’s biggest (and best) Halloween rager.

Known for capturing the spirit of the motherland, this iconic fiesta is the stuff of island legend—an authentic nod to the roots of Día de los Muertos. In one tequila-fuelled, table-dancing night, the party will see both locations epicly transformed with decorations transporting you to the wild heart of its origins.

In that same spirit, Executive Chef Steven Skelly is creating a menu with the flavours of Oaxaca, including Pozole Rojo, Flor De Calabaza Antojitos, Tamales De Pollo, Oaxacan Hot Chocolate and Pan de muertos—renowned dishes served only once a year on Día de los Muertos.

As always, there’s an IDR 10 million prize on offer for best dressed, this time at both venues. Take it for what it is and know that the stakes are high—going all out is the only way you’re going to be in the running.

A switch up on the more recent takes of Halloween, Día de los Muertos leans into lightness, celebrating the beauty of life and honouring loved ones who have passed with decadent offerings, vibrant colours and the Mexican people’s quintessential joy.

It’s a day of deep significance and proof that the country does it like no other—where even death becomes one unmissable party. Naturally, Motel Mexicola will be embracing the tradition in full force, offering up a night the ancestors would be proud of with big tunes, a heaving dancefloor and an open-arms vibe that reflects the proud community that surrounds it all.

Whether it’s Seminyak or Canggu you find yourself in on October 31, Motel Mexicola’s doors will be wide open with the hospitality you know and love, hyped and dressed up alongside the food and drink menu Bali can’t get enough of. Table bookings are available for those that want to secure their spot but tickets aren’t required, just bring your vibe and a thirst for a good time. Vamońos!
