MAPPI Celebrates 43rd Anniversary with Webinar on Optimizing State Assets

In an effort to improve the nation’s welfare, the optimization of state assets is seen as a central issue. Several aspects such as the role of appraisers in decision-making, challenges in asset valuation, technology in asset valuation, and cross-sectoral collaboration have become the focus of policymakers.

To celebrate its 43rd anniversary, the Indonesian Professional Appraisers Association (MAPPI) held a national webinar themed “Optimizing Assets in Building National Wealth.” This special event, initiated by the professional appraisers association, involved stakeholders ranging from figures, regulators, academics, to students to jointly discuss and explore in depth the potential of state assets that have not been fully utilized. Various important factors, ranging from asset identification, accurate valuation, to effective asset utilization strategies, were the main topics of discussion.

The webinar, held online on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with the main event at the Aloft South Jakarta Hotel, Jl. TB Simatupang Kavling No. 8, South Jakarta, was officially opened by the Head of the Center for the Development of Financial Professions, Dr. Erawati., S.H., K.N., M.T. and a Keynote Speech by the Director of Valuation at the Directorate General of State Assets, Arik Hariyono.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Siahaan, S.E., M.Ec., chaired the webinar which presented prominent speakers from regulators and academics.

The speakers who were the resource persons for the webinar included:

Prof. Ir. Haryo Winarso, M.Eng., Ph.D. Professor at SAPPK – Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Material: “Spatial Planning: Land Value Capture in Land Development Functions”
Prof. Dr. Insukindro, M.A. Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Material: “Property Economics: Asset Value in the Vortex of Certainty and Uncertainty”
Prof. Wakhid Slamet Ciptono, MBA., MPM., Ph.D. Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Material: “Strategic Asset Management: The Function of Optimization in Determining Asset Value”
Prof. Dr. Drs. Paripurna P. Sugarda, S.H., M.Hum., L.L.M. Professor at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Material: “Property Law: State Wealth in the Perspective of Corporate Law”
This webinar was attended by hundreds of participants from all over Indonesia, including regulators, professional appraisers, government appraisers, stakeholders in the property and finance industry, to students who are interested in the appraisal profession.



On the same day as the webinar event, a 43rd-anniversary thanksgiving ceremony for MAPPI was also held at the Aloft South Jakarta Hotel, which also invited children from the Al Kahfi Jakarta Selatan Foundation.

In his speech, MAPPI Chairman, Budi Prasodjo, said that the theme carried at the 43rd anniversary of MAPPI in 2024 is “Developing Appraisers Together for Advanced Indonesia”.
“So, at the age of 43, MAPPI as a professional association wants the spirit and optimism of these Appraisers to be able to contribute to realizing a Golden Indonesia, becoming a developed country in 2045,” said Budi.

On its 43rd anniversary, as a form of appreciation to the Appraisers who have pioneered and dedicated their lives to the advancement of the Appraisal Profession in Indonesia, MAPPI initiated the “Lifetime Achievement Award” to four figures who have served in their respective fields. These figures are:

Ir. Benedictus Supriyanto Darmapuspita, M.Sc., MAPPI (Cert) Pioneer in the Development of Education
Ir. Doli D. Siregar, M.Sc., FRICS., SCV., MAPPI (Cert) Pioneer of Appraiser Entrepreneurship
Saiful M. Ruki, S.E., M.B.A., MAPPI (Cert) Pioneer of Business Valuation
Drs. Karsono Surjowibowo Pioneer in Organizational Development
The thanksgiving event was also filled with a sermon by Ustazah Rima and ended with donations to children from the Al Kahfi Jakarta Selatan Foundation.

With the holding of this series of activities, MAPPI hopes to continue to strengthen the Appraiser community in Indonesia, as well as improve professionalism standards and public trust in the Appraisal profession.
