As a key component of ASEAN SEDP 3.0 programme, a total of USD 45,100 in grants have been distributed to all 30 social enterprises. This fund will empower them to implement their projects from September to December 2024, driving meaningful impact in their communities.
In addition to the financial support, personalised mentorship sessions will be provided to ensure that each project receives the guidance and expertise needed for the successful execution, maximising their potential for sustainable growth and long-term social change.
At the Demo Day event held earlier, several social enterprises were announced as grant winners. Arconesia won first place with a grant of 7,000 USD, followed by LTS Ventures and TRI Cycle in second place with 6,000 USD each. In fourth position is Second Life (USD 4,000), followed by Jasberry in fifth position (USD 3,000), Z-Waka in sixth position (USD 2,000), and Bumi Journey in seventh position (USD 1,000).
On this occasion, Jusrian Saubara Orpayanda, CEO of Arconesia, said “Winning first place and receiving a grant of USD 7,000 from ASEAN SEDP 3.0 is a great honour for us at Arconesia. This achievement further motivates us to intensify our effort in empowering young people to become farmers across Indonesia through regenerative agricultural practices, such as intercropping on oil palm land, aligning with Indonesia’s goal of food self-sufficiency. The ASEAN SEDP 3.0 workshop provided us with invaluable insights to apply in our business.
The insights and strategies gained from the ASEAN SEDP 3.0 workshop have underscored the vital role of digital platforms in expanding the reach of social enterprises. As part of the programme, the social enterprises also participated in the first TikTok Challenge, an initiative designed to amplify their social impact through digital platforms. In this context, TikTok’s support is pivotal in helping these enterprises grow, effectively reach their target audiences, and increase awareness of their mission.
“As a leading digital platform, we are honoured to be a trusted partner of the ASEAN Foundation in organising ASEAN SEDP 3.0. Our commitment is to provide a dynamic platform where social enterprises can not only grow their business but also expand their reach by engaging the right target audience.”
“Today, digital platforms have become an essential tool in driving change across all sectors, and we recognise its transformative power for social impact. This partnership presents a unique opportunity for social enterprises to showcase their innovation, connect to broader communities, and amplify their mission in ways that were not possible before,” said Jerry Lewis Ong, Social Impact APAC, TikTok.
As a leader in enterprise application software, SAP plays a vital role in this programme by offering its expertise in technology and business strategy to help social enterprises build scalable, sustainable solutions.
Through SAP’s support, participants gain access to advanced tools, insights, and mentorship that empower them to address local challenges effectively while also fostering economic growth. This collaboration not only strengthens the skills of young entrepreneurs but also aligns with SAP’s commitment to social responsibility by encouraging innovative approaches to create lasting, positive impact across the ASEAN region.
