Starbucks Indonesia Celebrates Global Month of Good 2025 Through Youth Entrepreneurship Program

Each April, Starbucks globally celebrates its Global Month of Good—an annual initiative dedicated to community service and social impact. In Indonesia, the highlight of this year’s celebration is the return of the Starbucks Creative Youth Entrepreneurship Program (SCYEP), culminating in the Regional Student Company Competition (RSCC), held at the National Library of Indonesia auditorium in Jakarta.

Global Month of Good is one of the ways we fulfill our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time,” said Avolina Raharjanti, Senior General Manager of Corporate Public Relations at PT Sari Coffee Indonesia, the licensed operator of the Starbucks brand in Indonesia.

Through SCYEP, supported by The Starbucks Foundation, more than 150 of our partners (employees) have volunteered their time and expertise to mentor high school students in building and developing their own student-run businesses. Since the program began in September 2024, our partners have dedicated over 700 hours to student mentoring,” she added.

In collaboration with non-profit organization Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI), the SCYEP is designed to empower high school students to address real-world community challenges while equipping them with practical business skills—including financial management, product development, and marketing.

This year, the program involved 275 students from 10 high schools across nine cities, including Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, and Jayapura.

The RSCC provides a competitive platform for student-led companies to present their business ideas. Two standout teams will be selected based on a set of criteria covering innovation, marketing strategy, financial planning, and business development potential.

We believe that an entrepreneurial mindset among youth must be cultivated through direct, hands-on learning experiences,” said Pribadi Setiyanto, Chairman of the Board of Prestasi Junior Indonesia. “In collaboration with The Starbucks Foundation and Starbucks Indonesia, this program becomes a space for students to discover their potential, strengthen their creativity, and sharpen their business acumen in ways that are relevant to the future workforce.
