At the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2019, Roelof Lamberts, President Director of PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia, provided a review of the first quarter of 2019. “Despite challenges in the automotive industry, Mercedes-Benz sold 841 vehicles in the first three months of 2019, confirming our position as the number one luxury automotive brand in Indonesia with a market share of 50%”, said Roelof Lamberts, President Director of PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia. The success story of Mercedes-Benz achieved in 2018 continues in 2019 with 315 cars sold in March. 27% of the first quarter sales were contributed by the SUV models consisting of the GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS and the new G-Class.
“Proving to be the preferred choice in its segment, the new C 200 EQ Boost and C 300 AMG Line models were the most popular vehicles. From January to March 2019, sales of the C-Class grew by 18% compared to the same period last year. As such, 29% of our sales were contributed by the successful C-Class models which are locally-assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wanaherang”, closes Roelof Lamberts.
At this year’s IIMS, held from 25 April to 5 May 2019, Mercedes-Benz will showcase 8 vehicles of its product portfolio at Hall D3d of JI Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Mercedes-Benz is ready to showcase the range of vehicles that highlight comfort, efficiency and safety. The new B-Class and the new GLC AMG Night Edition will be for the first time introduced to the Indonesian public. The Mercedes-Benz sedans such as C-Class, E-Class and the S-Class as well as the new A-Class and GLA compact cars are on display.
In addition to the range of vehicles at the booth, Mercedes-Benz will also offer five vehicles for test drive and three units of Mercedes-Benz Certified used cars during the IIMS 2019. At an area of 609 square meters, Mercedes-Benz also provides a STAR Lounge that includes the STAR Café and Mercedes-Benz Collection shop for customers and visitors of the exhibition.
The new B-Class: compact, intelligent and sporty
For the first time at an international automotive exhibition in Indonesia, Mercedes-Benz will introduce The new B-Class. The latest Mercedes-Benz B- Class features a sporty tone in Sports Tourer aspect. The sporty nuance presents a more dynamic look than its predecessors and it creates more driving agility while offering greater comfort and space.
The driving assistance systems, such as Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and the advanced Active Brake Assist, provides the B-Class with one of the highest active safety standards in the segment with similar functions carried over from the S-Class.
The new B-Class with MBUX – Mercedes-Benz User Experience
The amazing intuitive user interface of the adaptive MBUX multimedia system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). Bright graphics, voice control with “Hey Mercedes” keyword activation, standard touch screen as well as other functions, such as connectivity via Apple Carplay or Android Auto and navigation system are among the prime features of the new B-Class.
The MBUX multimedia system has ushered the new era in connectivity, where its unique artificial intelligence feature is able to learn the preference of its users as MBUX can adjust and adapt to the users. The modular function in MBUX structure allows it to meet and support the different needs of each customer.

The most successful SUV of Mercedes-Benz now is enhanced with the new GLC 200 AMG Night Edition. The new GLC 200 AMG Night Edition comes generously equipped as standard, including a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, Burmester® surround sound system, LED High Performance headlamps, THERMATIC automatic climate control, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, reversing camera, and black open-pore ash wood trim with black artico leather upholstery.
The new AMG Night Edition enhances the style of the GLC with 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, a front apron, rear apron and side skirts in high-gloss black, wing mirrors in high-gloss black, front and back underguards in black, radiator grille with integral Mercedes-Benz star and two louvres in high-gloss black with chrome inserts and black roof rails.
