Mercedes-Benz will participate at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2019, to be held from 18 July to 28 July 2019. As the number one brand in the luxury vehicle segment in Indonesia, Mercedes- Benz is ready to showcase Indonesia premieres at the largest motor show: the new CLA Coupé and the new GLE SUV. 11 Mercedes-Benz models of the compact cars, luxury sedan and SUVs will be on display at Hall 3 of Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang.
In addition to the range of vehicles at the booth, Mercedes-Benz will also offer a selection of 8 vehicles for test drive, including Mercedes-Benz Certified used cars during the GIIAS 2019. At an area of more than 900 square meters, the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge features the Star Café and Mercedes-Benz Collection shop for customers and visitors of the exhibition. A special display at the Mercedes-Benz Booth will be the celebration of “40 years of G-Class”.
The new CLA Coupé: cool, laid-back and exciting
For the first time at an international automotive exhibition in Indonesia, Mercedes- Benz will introduce the new CLA Coupé. At market launch available as CLA 200 AMG Line, the sporty look inside and out comes courtesy of the AMG Line with 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, AMG front apron, AMG rear apron and AMG side sill panels, sports seats, multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather, light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim elements or black DINAMICA microfibre. On top of this the AMG Line has the lowered comfort suspension.
Design: Pure emotion
The combination of the long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless doors give the CLA Coupé its unmistakeable sporty and elegant character. Forming the front end is the striking front section which is raked forwards like a shark nose with a long, stretched bonnet featuring powerdomes.
Flat headlamps together with the low slung bonnet and the diamond radiator grille with central star create the vehicle’s sporty face. The two-piece, narrow tail lamps and the number plate housed in the bumper make the rear of the CLA look especially wide.
Interior design: cool staging of intelligent technology
As in the A-Class, the unique interior architecture is shaped in particular by the avant- garde design of the dashboard: The designers completely dispensed with a cowl above the cockpit. As a result, the wing-shaped main body of the dashboard extends from one front door to the other with no visual discontinuity. The widescreen display including Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) is completely free-standing.
The new CLA Coupé with the CLA 200 AMG Line variant will be offered at a price of IDR829,000,000 (Off-the-road).
The new GLE: the SUV trendsetter
The exterior design of the new Mercedes-Benz GLE not only exudes presence and power, but also sets a new standard for aerodynamics in the SUV segment, with a Cd figure of 0.29. The SUV trendsetter is full of innovations. For example, the new GLE will feature a completely new six-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt technology and EQ Boost. The interior is even more spacious and comfortable, with a third seat row as standard. The infotainment system boasts larger screens and MBUX. On market launch in the third quarter of 2019, the GLE with its new 4MATIC ensures great agility on the road and superior performance off the beaten track.
Interior: more space in the rear with third seat row
A size larger: the new GLE has a considerably longer wheelbase than its predecessor (2995 millimetres, plus 80 mm). This creates significantly more space, especially for passengers in the rear. Legroom in the second seat row has increased by 69 millimetres to 1045 millimetres. Headroom in the rear has increased by 35 millimetres to 1027 millimetres. And because the A-pillar is more upright than before, spaciousness and entry comfort in the first row has been further improved.
The special second seat row comes with six fully electric adjustment options. The right and left seats can be separately adjusted fore-and-aft by up to 100 millimetres, the backrests are adjustable for angle and foldable in a 40:20:40 ratio, and the head restraints are adjustable for height. The backrest can also be completely folded down electrically, using a switch array in the luggage compartment.
The luggage capacity is up to 825 litres behind the rear seats, and up to 2055 litres when the second seat row is folded down. A 72 mm increase in through-loading width allows bulky items to be stowed more easily.
Even more flexibility is offered with the folding third seat row, which provides two extra seats. Thanks to the Easy Entry function of the fully electrically adjustable second seat row, the two rearmost passengers can conveniently reach their seats.
Six-cylinder petrol engine: electrified with 48-volt technology
The GLE 450 4MATIC AMG Line is powered by a six-cylinder engine systematically electrified with 48-volt. Its performance data: 270 kW (367 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, with a further 250 Nm of torque and 16 kW/22 hp available via EQ Boost over short periods. The integrated starter/alternator (ISG) is responsible for hybrid functions such as EQ Boost or energy recuperation, while allowing fuel savings that were previously reserved for high-voltage hybrid technology.
The new GLE 450 4MATIC AMG Line is offered at a price of Rp1,799,000,000 (Off-the- road).
