ALL of the countries in Asia region keep making up their selves, and so does Malaysia. So far, people just get familiar with Kuala Lumpur or Penang, so get ready with another beautiful city in Malaysia called Johor Bahru. This city that is also known as Johor Baru, is the second big city in Malaysia which keeps growing in economic and tourism sector.
The location of Johor Bahru that is not too far from Indonesia, make it as one of Indonesian favorite destination. A lot of entertaining facilities are being built. Nowadays, Johor Bahru is no longer seen as a small city in suburb. It develops very fast. Even though there are not so many tourism objects yet, but they offer a great attractiveness, such as Royal Palace. This palace shows a lot of unique state collections such as crystal chair which is the only one in the world.
The other object is Abu Bakar Mosque. This mosque has a unique dome. It looks like the dome at Great Mosque at Medan. At a glance, the interior is very simple, but you will get impress if you know the making process. It is known that the making process of the dome used egg as the plaster like Penyengat Mosque at Tanjung Pinang. Another attractive point is the sculpture dais that was taken from Turkey.
This city has a great point of comfort, safety, and packaging. At the entrance from Singapore, there is a public park called Danga Bay, right at side of Johor-Singapura beach. There are children area, restaurants, and entertaining area. At bight, this area is so beautiful with so much light. This kind of package is hopefully can make tourist come to Johor.
Another thing that closed to Johor is the shopping places. There are a lot of malls. If you want to go for souvenir shops, just come to Johor Area Rehabilitation Organization (JARO) Handicrafts Centre at Sungai Street. Tourist can find a lot of handicrafts. The interesting point is all the handicrafts were made by disable people. So, by shopping, we also can do charity.
Meanwhile, for them who want to buy branded things, you can come to AEON Tebrau City, Pelangi Plaza at Pelangi Street or Larkin Plaza near the Larkin bus station. There are a lot of branded products like Giordano’s, MNG, Esprit, Dorothy Perkins etc.
For those who like to do cheap shopping, let’s come to Johor Bahru Duty Free Zone. No wonder there are cheap products with high quality. You, who using boat from Batam and Bintan, must come to this area. This place can be called as one stop entertaining. There are shopping centre, floating restaurant and night club.
For culinary, there is nothing to worry about. There is still familiar taste like Indonesian food, although there are also other taste such as India and China. There is Fat Rice which is Indonesia known as Uduk Rice, Canai bread dan Tissue Bread with curry. There is one thing people must not forget, the sweet Tarik Tea originally from Malaysia.
