The palpable sense of timelessness that pervades every Aman property is the perfect antidote to the whirlwind of our modern world. Where better than to maximise leap year and give February’s extra day its full weight and worth? At Aman destinations around the globe in 2020, use that extra time you’re always after to learn a new skill, experience a new culture or simply do something unique with those you love. Be it fossil hunting with Amangiri’s Paleontologist in Utah, pottery lessons in Turkey at Amanruya, learning Muay Thai kickboxing at Amanpuri in Phuket, exploring Nui Chua National Park from Amanoi in Vietnam or hand-making incense at Amankora in Bhutan; Aman’s entire ethos is built around making every second count.

The 90-minute workshop takes place in a traditional dojo near Aman Tokyo and includes lessons in Samurai etiquette and six kata manoeuvres. The final move taught is a tameshigiri slicing technique with a katana.
