Starbucks launches the “Beauty of Indonesia” merchandise collection to celebrate diversity in commemorating the 77th Indonesian Independence Day
As Indonesia celebrates its 77th anniversary of independence, Starbucks in Indonesia launched new local merchandise collection, the Beauty of Indonesia, that inspired by the diversity and richness of Indonesian culture. The existence of this merchandise collection is inextricably linked to the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as well as collaboration with two Indonesian talented artists to express and display their masterpieces.
“Independence Day celebrations always inspire people to love their country even more. We make it happen by introducing our newest addition of merchandise collection, which in terms of design are very thick with Indonesian cultural treats,” said Liryawati, CMO of PT. Sari Coffee Indonesia, licensee of Starbucks in Indonesia, at the press conference event in Starbucks Community Store Tanah Abang.
“We collaborate with two talented young artists who share the same goal of inspiring and cultivating love for their homeland in creating this product, Naela Ali and Hari Prasetyo. With this creative collaboration, we’re hoping to be able to reinforce our mission to always inspire and foster the human spirit,” she added.
This latest collection of local merchandise from Starbucks is available in four different designs.
Naela Ali is a young graphic designer, illustrator, and entrepreneur from Jakarta. Her style is characterized by many simple and modern works that is created with watercolor techniques. In this collaboration, she carries the themes “People of Indonesia”, which depicts the diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia, and “Flora and Fauna of Indonesia”, which portrayed Indonesia’s unique, exotic, and indigenous flora and fauna.
All tumbler collections are available starting August 8th while mugs will be available on August 12th at all Starbucks stores in Indonesia – while stocks last.
Meanwhile, Hari Prasetyo a.k.a. Hari Prast is an illustrator and comic artist from Tulungagung, East Java, that is known for his ligne clare illustration style. You can find his artwork on the “Landmark of Indonesia” design that represents Indonesia’s famous and iconic landmarks and “Culture of Indonesia” that displayed Indonesia’s diverse food and culture.
