Unlock another city in East Java this year, Starbucks celebrates the journey of coffee from seed to cup by opening its first store in Jember, East Java. Located in Jl. Gajah Mada No. 288, Kaliwates, starting today, the 222 m2store is in a position to assist and serve Jember’s coffee enthusiasts and the community.
“We are delighted to finally open our doors to our customers in Jember, extending the Starbucks Experience to more customers across Indonesia,” said Anthony McEvoy, leader for PT Sari Coffee Indonesia – the licensee of Starbucks in Indonesia.
“We recognize it is necessary to begin reaching more Indonesians after being in the country for 20 years, not just in the major cities but all across the country to enable them to enjoy our coffee. We intend to grow to ten additional cities in 2022, and Jember is one of them. And here we are,” he added.
There is a strong reason why Starbucks is now open in Jember. This is a thriving city with the potential to become even stronger, and it appears that Jember has been a long-time supporter of Starbucks by producing coffee seed.
Design wise, every Starbucks store has its own aesthetic design. Influenced by the natural beauty of Jember, the color palette of the store is more to earthy and watery tones. The area is ringed by a stunning piece of art that shows a variety of coffee farms and rainforests.
Customers can indulge their eyes with beautiful art pieces on the side wall of the room, which are inspired by the steep winding journey the coffee had to travel from farm to cup. The vibrant color stimulates a good and happy vibe for all customers.
This store is in a residential setting with patiolike seating dominated by natural wood finishes which creates a warm feeling, where everyone is welcome. Thestore will cater around 91 customers to unwind or work while enjoying the best cup of coffee.
Since opening its first store 20 years ago in Indonesia, today, the company offers many ways for customers to connect with their family and friends over a high-quality cup of Starbucks coffee.
In its mission to make difference in the lives of the people who connect with Starbucks, the company strives to create a positive impact in the communities it serves. In 2020, Starbucks opened the first Community Store in the Tanah Abang neighborhood of Jakarta, to create educational opportunities for youth in Tanah Abang, followed by the Starbucks Creative Youth Entrepreneurship Program (SCYEP) in support of youth empowerment.
