Hundreds of Runners Join Minister Sandiaga Uno in Celebrating World Mental Health Day at #PelarianWeekenders

Over 100 runners from various running communities in the Jabodetabek area joined the #pelarianweekenders event initiated by Creative Tribe and several movement partners. The #PelarianWeekenders movement, which has inspired communities in major Indonesian cities since 2022, returned to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2024.

With the theme “Mental Health at Work,” this event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in the workplace.

Since its inception in 2022, #pelarian, an open campaign and collective movement part of modern-day culture targeting millennial and Gen Z youth to encourage care and foster collective awareness of mental health issues, has become a platform that has attracted attention and become an inspiration not only for individuals but also for communities to share experiences and discuss the challenges faced in maintaining mental health, especially in the increasingly demanding world of work.

“Good mental health is essential for our productivity and well-being. A study conducted a few years ago showed that approximately 20% of the population in Jabodetabek is vulnerable to mental health issues, especially in the workplace.”

“I am very happy to be part of this movement and hope to inspire more people to care about their mental health, especially mental health at work. So let’s celebrate World Mental Health Day 2024 by showing care and concern for each other,” said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, who joined the #pelarianmove and #pelarianchitchat moments; running with the community and sharing while having a casual discussion with a psychologist and boxing enthusiast.
